Wiesław Kaczmarek MD PhD

Author is a senior orthopaedic surgeon in Orthopaedic Department of K.Marcinkowski University in Poznań, Poland. He graduated I General College in Poznań in 1984 and in 1991 graduated K.Marcinkowski Poznań University, Faculty of Medical Sciences. He specialized in orthopaedics and trauma surgery and gained second degree specialization in 2002. In 2006 he gained a title of Philosophy Doctor on the basis of thesis "Evaluation of sagittal profile correction of idiopathic scoliosis during treatment with Cotrel-Dubousset method". Currently he works in Klinika Promienista in Poznań and is an author of a number of scientific papers concerning especially treatment of developmental hip dysplasia, treatment of congenital and idiopathic scolioses, treatment of hip and knee prosthesis, treatment of osteoid osteoma in children. His clinical practical experience comprises more than 700 surgical procedures including more than 300 hip prosthesis, 100 knee prosthesis, 100 arthroscopy, 50 hallux valgus corrections and many more others like scoliosis corrections, low back surgery. Has got also great experience in trauma surgery and operative treatment of bone fractures and dislocations, treatment of bone and joint septic inflammation. Member of Polish Orthopaedic Society since 1995. Participant of various trainings in western- Europe hospitals (Guys Hospital in London, Rotterdam, Paris, Plymouth, Parma, Frankfurt. He is fluent in English and Russian. Currently he performs orthopaedic surgery both pay-able in private hospital (Promienista Clinic- Poznań)and on NHS (K.Marcinkowski University Clinic- Poznań). Married to Monika and has got two children: Sonia (1997), Albert (2000)
